Gregory P. Diamantopoulos is an associate at Verros, Lafakis & Berkshire, PC. He advises clients in a variety of real estate matters, with a focus on property tax appeals and incentives, in addition to representing a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential properties throughout Illinois.

Mr. Diamantopoulos has argued before various County Boards of Review, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and the Circuit Court of Cook County. In this capacity, he has secured favorable tax assessments and negotiated large property tax settlements and refund recoveries for his clients. He also trains new attorneys and manages the firm’s Circuit Court tax objection practice.

In 2016, Mr. Diamantopoulos secured a Class 7c tax incentive for a franchise location of a national coffee and baked goods chain located in Chicago’s 20th Ward. Additionally, he secured the only Ordinance in support of a Class 7c tax incentive in the Village of Mount Prospect for a $10+ million renovation project to create a state-of-the-art recreational facility.

Mr. Diamantopoulos began his career in the field of property taxation after he received his law degree in 2008. While in law school, he served as Editor of Outside Submissions and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sports Law & Contemporary Problems, where he oversaw the selection of articles and the publication of the journal.

Mr. Diamantopoulos is admitted to practice in Illinois.
